Especially in times of a crisis, the weakest people in our society suffer the most.
This is why for many years, we have not made any expensive presents to our customers but have made donations to those who need them the most: People in our society who are not able to buy healthy food from their own means. This Christmas we support the food bank Dillenburger Tafel with a donation amounting to € 2,500. On 13 December 2021, the donation was given to Bianca Seißler (Head of Social Work Department at DRK Dillenburg), Bianca Denkmann (Manager of Tafel Dillenburg) as well as Martin Debus (Voluntary Head of the Food Bank) by Marc Rieser (Managing Director VETTER Krantechnik GmbH) and Oliver Weirich (Head of Human Resources and Finance VETTER Holding AG).
The food bank Tafel Dillenburg, which is organised by the German Red Cross, makes a valuable contribution to poverty reduction in the northern part of the German district Lahn-Dill-Kreis. About 60 groceries, bakeries, and supermarkets support the food bank and thus also contribute to a sustainable use of food. About 100 voluntary employees collect the groceries from the partners, sort them in the town hall “Herefordhaus” at the railway station in Dillenburg where they are distributed to about 800 people every week.
