Kühne + Nagel
Kuehne + Nagel operates two logistics centres in the Nuremberg Freight Village. The items stored and handled, many of them from the automotive and electrical industries, range from small parts to turbochargers weighing two tonnes. At peak times, the daily handling capacity reaches up to 300 tonnes. On an area of almost 20,000 square metres, this places high demands on the intralogistics planners, as everything has to mesh perfectly. Cranes from VETTER are therefore also used at various points within the halls.
A column-mounted slewing jib crane with two jibs with a load capacity of 800 and 200 kg and lengths of 4 and 2 metres supports the employees at a packing workstation as a handling aid. This VETTER crane is used for all parts that can no longer be lifted manually. Its jibs can be used flexibly at a radius of 180° and ensure fatigue-free and, above all, safe working. Two P400 gantry crane systems, each with 3 crane bridges, also support parts handling in the range up to 800 kg there and in the pre-packaging area.
The operator relies on optimised processes and pleasant working conditions that enable concentrated, safe and efficient work. VETTER crane technology makes a major contribution to this and not only increases work safety, but also increases efficiency.
