Yachting crane on Lake Baldeney

1 / 3

Just in time for the start of the current water sports season, the Baldeney e.V. water sports club on Lake Baldeney in Essen, founded in 1919, has received its new VETTER yachting crane! The crane, which has a lifting capacity of 2 tonnes and an outreach of almost 6 metres, is located on the northern shore of the lake in the south of Essen and offers water sports enthusiasts everything they could wish for in addition to an absolutely idyllic location. The club has 16 water moorings in a very idyllic part of the lake. The old VETTER crane had become obsolete after almost 35 years and the board remained loyal to the VETTER brand and also ordered the new crane from us.

The Master-class slewing jib crane is designed as an outdoor crane with a hot-dip galvanised construction that has been painted in a weatherproof light grey. The column is ventilated to protect the bearings from corrosion. In this case, the weather protection package also includes a weather protection roof for driving under the electric chain hoist in the rest position and the design of the flat trailing cable power supply with neoprene cables. The emergency control system is housed in a lockable stainless steel box. The crane itself is designed to be operational up to wind force 6.

A special feature is the all-round impact protection for the masts of the yachts, as the sensitive masts need to be protected from damage, especially when craning sailing boats. A VETTER crane is also used at the neighbouring rowing club on Lake Baldeney. As you can see, the name VETTER has a good reputation among water sports enthusiasts in the Ruhr region - and now nothing stands in the way of the water sports season in the area!
