KEB Antriebstechnik GmbH
KEB Automation is one of the leading international suppliers of drive and automation technology. For KEB Antriebstechnik in Schneeberg, part of the KEB Group, crane solutions from VETTER are now an integral part of the production strategy, contributing significantly to reducing throughput times in manufacturing. Each crane type is individually tailored to component diversity, load capacity and handling requirements.
A particular focus is placed on ErgoLine® light crane systems, which span multiple work areas and workstations. Thanks to their particularly smooth and simple operation, they enable ergonomic working and reduce strain on employees. Changes to production processes and production expansions can be implemented quickly, among other things due to the high flexibility of the ErgoLine® light crane systems. ‘The use of ErgoLine® light crane systems has enabled a significantly higher degree of freedom in the design of the factory layout, the value stream and the workplace,’ explains Stephan Weitkamp, Managing Director of Operations & IT at KEB Antriebstechnik GmbH.
In mechanical production, KEB uses not only the ErgoLine® light crane system but also PS and AS model pillar-mounted slewing cranes. With load capacities ranging from 125 to 1,000 kg, they are ideal for handling components on single-station machines. A particular advantage is that the patented VAS2 composite anchor system allows the pillar jib cranes to be dowelled directly onto existing concrete floors without the need for costly foundations. The P500 OLYMPIA gantry crane system is used for heavy long goods in the goods receiving area. It transports incoming goods directly from the lorry to the cantilever racking, efficiently and without damaging the materials.
‘A key advantage of working with VETTER is that we have a partner at our side who has the right crane solutions for us in its portfolio,’ says Stephan Weitkamp. ‘In addition, having a partner allows us to reduce training costs, simplify spare parts supply and create standardised processes, even for new projects.’
For KEB, one thing is clear: investing in crane solutions from VETTER is a decision in favour of quality, future security and ergonomic work processes. VETTER impresses not only with its high-performance technology, but also with its comprehensive service – from planning and customisation to commissioning.
